The BestAppify Score is four measurements, each turned into a percentile against the other product reviews apps and then weighted. It is computed from our own crawl of the App Store — no human ranks these, and no app can pay to move.
What it cannot see: whether the app is any good at the job. Nothing here reads the feature list or installs the app, so treat the score as a shortlist, not a verdict — it tells you which three or four of these 30 are worth an hour of your evening, and no more than that. Apps whose pricing the crawler could not read score below the paid range on price rather than in the middle of it, deliberately: a price you cannot check before installing is a cost too. Momentum is measured over the last 17 days — the run of days on which our coverage of this category has been complete enough for one day's rank to mean the same thing as another's. It is deliberately shorter for categories we finished crawling recently: a rank of 4th out of the 28 apps we had in July is not comparable to 6th out of 436 today, and treating it as though it were would have scored every established app in some categories as falling.
